M&Ms

All right, I have a problem. I admit it. Some of us talk about our vices being caffeinated beverages, and others of us, namely me, need to declare our love for chocolate. More specifically Peanut M&Ms. Remember a couple of months ago when I declared my love for Costco and my insatiable desire to buy things in bulk? It just makes me happy. Well, in recent months I've noticed that Costco starting carrying an XXL bag of peanut m&ms--that's 56 oz of deliciousness, my friends! But, I have resisted buying this because, I don't know, I don't need an 10 extra pounds on my hips coming solely from a bag of candy. But I must have mentioned to Trevor on one of our numerous trips to Costco my desire to buy it and that I wouldn't. Well, Trevor being the nice guy that he is, when he was buying me some flowers for our anniversary, also picked up one of the gargantuan bags of m&ms. I don't think he realized that that is like buying drugs for a recovering cocaine addict. Seriously. I think I've eaten nothing but m&ms for a week. And today, in my attempt to get them out of my house, I took them to G's birthday party and let her friends finish them off. That's right, the whole bag is gone. I was so glad this morning that they were gone. But now that it's 9:30 pm, and I'm craving a little chocolate, there is none to be had! I'm going through major withdrawals! I told Trevor that I was probably going to have to buy another bag. I need to get some help. Moral of the story...never never never ever buy the big bag of m&ms from Costco...it will only lead to weight gain and tears. :)

I read this and laughed through the whole thing! YOu are hilarious! Don't you think M&M's in bulk just taste better? Jeff did the same thing with the container of Jelly Bellys at costco for me. I ended up putting some in cute bags and giving them to the primary kids! (after I had eaten all of the best flavors of course!) Best of luck on your chocolate quest. I think some sort of chocolate is a necessary item to have in the house at all times.

For some reason, peanut M&M's are not a candy I would normally pick out at the store(I'm a Rollos girl). But I have to admit that when I am around those peanut M&M's, I go nuts (oh, gee, that was a good word to use, hu?)! It's as if I have never tried them before and have to get my fill of them before the famine! But I do think the withdrawl after you have finally gotten rid of the end of them is the worst! It's like "But I didn't really appreciate them when they were here! I just need one more handfull to savor!!"

ljhscMatt loves the peanut M&M's as well- I do too, don't get me wrong. I do buy them for him, but then I make him take the entire bag with him to work so they are never in my house or I will gain the extra ten punds on my hips too!
Love the new template. DId you buy it?

megan--nope, I didn't buy it. I really don't understand the whole "blog kit" thing. I think I'm technically challenged. Mine is a work in progress, and will probably change a few times more before I figure it out.

So peanut M&Ms are the best I have to admit. I know how you feel about having them gone, even though you did want them gone, its just not fair. We need chocolate! My favorite thing right now are the chewy caramels from Werthers. I can't get enough of them.

First of all... the cake for your daughter was DARLING. Second of all, at least the candy you choose to love has a little protein!!! I love those little mini Mounds candybars for their dark chocolate and coconut. A little anti-oxident in the dark chocolate, a little protien from the coconut. Problem solved!!!

I hate having junk food in the house-- but it is all Rich buys! What he doesn't realize is that I am the one home all day with the chance to eat it. I've got serious issues with not only caffeine, but chips, ice cream and peanut butter. Some one help me! Rich told me I need a 12 step program.

I too love chocolate and tonight I am wishing we had some in the house. I am too lazy to go make something sweet! I loved your post. Can I also say that I really miss you guys and wish that we could live closer?

Rachel,
I really miss you guys too. Someday we WILL live closer. I just have to keep telling myself that.

Oh I know this story all too well...we keep said bag of Costco peanut m&ms in our cupboard almost religiously. There, it's out. I love how James fills a teeny tiny Cubby sized bowl at a time, as if that makes it better somehow. They're handy to have though, as bribes and such for the boy. (Ok, and I need them).
So what does it say that I get those AND have a Dr. Pepper problem...is there any hope for me?

Why do the guys feel the need to buy the candy, and then never eat any! Deron always buys that darn huge bad of M&M's, and then I always end up eating the majority. I thought that maybe if I ate enough I wouldn't want them any more, but that didn't work at all. On our cruise, a lady that sat at our table for dinner was a real live serious recovering chocaholic!! Her story is almost sad. Seriously all she would eat was chocolate. Maybe I will share it sometime.

I have that strange desire to buy anything in bulk too??? Those Sorenson's really did a number on us. And yes, I have had my fair share of Peanut M & M's in my day... I have never braved a 10 lb bag though, wow. You are so amazing for realizing the problem and getting rid of them, I am not so sure i could have done it.

You crack me up! But I can relate. That is what I am addicted to is CHOCOLATE! I love it and can't seem to live without it. I eat way too much of it and now can't lose the baby weight. What can I say. Oh well!

loved your story on Meg's blog. That was hysterical. You should keep those great stories a secret. Got any more!?

I have the same problem, but with the big bag of Kirkland brand Trail Mix. I LOVE the M&Ms and the peanuts separate (yet still together), and although it sounds healthy, I always end up having to go buy bags of plain M&Ms to even out the amount of chocolate/nut ratio....so not so healthy! My dad knows how much I love it, and I came home one day to find a bag of Kirkland Trail Mix and one of those huge Costco size bags of plain M&Ms (so I could put the two together) sitting on my porch after he went to Costco. It was very nice, but at the same time, I was like...are you insane, Dad!?!...Don't encourage me!! I just cannot stop eating it, so I have gone cold turkey and won't even touch trail mix anymore. It's a sad world for me now at Costco. I'm glad to hear that you have a similar problem, so I'm not quite so crazy!

I love M&M's. I am with you and love the peanut ones. I don't buy them that off because I have zero self control when it comes to those. I out eat Layne 10 to 1 on those. I were probably go crazy if I had the bulk bag from Costco.

On a side note...I miss Costco. The closest store we have is a Sam's Club in Idaho Falls. But I still think Costco is better!

I love your new look! That green is one of my favorite colors! And I am so addicted to chocolate too! When I eat tons of chocolate I just want more...when Jon eats too much he doesn't want any forever....HATE HIM!!! I am glad that you are still craving! Since I'm on a temporary leave from M&M's I am glad someone out there is getting to enjoy them!

Annie,

That is so funny. Isn't it weird how things like that can be so addicting? I'm sure that even as you indulge, you will be able to burn off those extra calories as you chase your family around. :) Enjoy them while you can. You are still young. :)
