I can't sleep...

Probably due to the 2 1/2 glasses of Dr. Pepper coursing through my veins from dinner tonight. (That probably wasn't a good idea.) T and I went out on a date to Carrabbas and ate mass amounts of yummy food. It was nice to have dinner all by ourselves without having to force our kids to eat and break up fights. (Yes, that is what dinner is like at our house every night of the week.) And the creme brulee wasn't too bad either! We have to take advantage of having family watch our kids all the chances we can get, right? right.
But all this vacationing is taking its toll... I mean, who in their right mind can diet while on vacation? I sure can't. And for some reason, part of vacationing for me is doing a lot of shopping. Who can resist spending 3.74 on little girl shirts at the Gap? Not me. (And I assure you, my total shopping experience didn't cost me 3.74...I had to stock up, right?)
So, in short, I'm probably gaining weight (not quite sure, because I refuse to step on the scale until I get home to my own house...aaaah, denial), I'm running out of money, and I'm not getting enough sleep! Good thing we leave Tuesday! :)

My Daughter, the Swamp Creature

I thought this picture was hilarious that we took at the pool yesterday. H just loves to run in and out of the pool a million times, and usually her hair ends up looking like this. By the way, we discovered the perfect time to go to the pool...5 or 6:00 in the evening--no one is there! It's fantastic! We went for FHE, and it was really nice to avoid the masses. (Really, have you been there in the middle of the day? It's practically standing room only.) We had a great time. I literally had to drag Holly out of the pool at 8:00 when they close, because she was NOT going to get out of her own free will and choice.

Only two more days of crazy single-parenting. Hubby flies in on Thursday. Yeah! I can't believe how fast the past couple of weeks have gone by. It's a bit sad that our little summer vacation is coming to a close. Whenever we come back, it feels like we never left. And we have had so much fun hanging out with family and friends.

I need to get a life...do you see what time it is???

Okay, I really am a loser. It's after midnight, and I'm tired, but I just can't seem to close the laptop and go to bed. I just have this urge to blog. I think I need to get some help.

Holy cow, I didn't realize until I uploaded this picture how much baby K looks like hubby. The other day I put her on the floor, and when I went back to check on her, there she was with both hands behind her head, just chillin'. I thought it was pretty funny. And now I find her that way quite often. She's also just discovered her feet, which is very cute. I need to be extra vigilant about keeping her feet clean, because she really likes to put them in her mouth!

As a side note...has anyone read the mvhs1997 blog lately? It's getting little out of control! I find myself logging on just to see the next installment of the high school drama.

Now I'm going to close my laptop and GO TO BED!

Temporarily Insane

Well, I feel like a slacker. Everyone is writing fantastic and funny posts, and I'm just out to lunch. I feel like I have been running 90 miles an hour (chasing kids) since we've been in town. Does anyone out there feel like your kids are making you insane? I've never really felt like an extremely busy mom until magic number three happened. Also, it doesn't help when you have three kids on vacation without their daddy to help out. I should have recorded the cacaphony in the backseat while driving in the car yesterday. It was so loud! I think I need to start carrying ear plugs with me at all times, so that when I get tired of the tattle-tailing, screaming, crying, loud singing, etc, I can just plug them in and have a mommy time-out. I'm sure I'm not the only mother who feels this way at times. But it was funny when last night I was getting my kids in the car trying to get on the road to my sister's house in Salem (where we were going to have a cousin sleepover)--in the midst of a screaming baby who was sick of her carseat, a screaming 2 year old who has major diaper rash that I think can only be cured by potty training the child, and another child who shall remain nameless that had had an accident in her pants(which NEVER happens), my dad asked me if he needed to call CPS. I told him he just might need to.

Well, even though I feel very busy and crazy, and temporarily insane, I still wouldn't change my job for anything.

Painful but funny...

We took this video last month at home. This was too funny not to share. It's borderline painful to watch-- the poor baby being spat upon to get a laugh and her sisters heckling "do it again! do it again!" And yet, I don't get tired of watching it...it just makes me laugh right along with that cute baby! (I'm not at all biased!)

Can we just say bag lady?

I think this is classified as "dressing up run amuk." Seriously, this child could be totally happy all day long if given a bag of dress-up clothes to play with. This "look" was inspired by Grandma Shell's old costumes. It was hilarious, because she kept bringing more and more items to help her put on, and by the time she was done she looked like some sort of gypsy-bag lady.

We went to the annual Glazier family reunion this past weekend. It was so much fun! Our family went down a day early so we could go to Bryce. I hadn't been to Bryce since I was knee high to a grasshopper, so it was great. What a gorgeous place. Southern Utah is just breath-taking. T likes to talk about geology any chance he can get, so this was heaven for him! The kids had a blast hiking and spending time with their cousins. The one hike we did was down to Wallstreet, and I was a little worried about my girls getting tired because it was so steep. But they did great--much to both T's and my surprise.

Once we got to the family reunion site, I don't think H came inside unless she was dragged kicking and screaming. She had so much fun. I love that my kids are playing outside. They just don't do it that much back home. It was fun to see family that we hadn't seen in a very long time. I think all we did was eat, talk, and eat some more! Some good dieting is on the horizon for me. Yeah for me! (yes, sarcasm is implied.)

Good Friends...Good Times

Hey Ya'll,
We had a great time seeing you tonight. It was so fun to catch up. I should have taken a picture of all the kiddos to post with this. Oh well--next time. Thanks Mind for hosting--hopefully your house will recover and it won't take too much therapy. :) Let's all get together again soon!

On a side note...

Do these munchkins look related? I think maybe G and K look the most alike. Can you tell which is which?
