Well we had a really fun weekend with friends down on South Padre Island. If you've never heard of it, it's at the very bottom tip of Texas right on the Mexican border. We were a little worried that the weather would be rainy--has anyone noticed that Texas has had a very wet summer? But it really was a perfect weekend. We met our friends from Austin, and we all stayed at the Sheraton Beach Hotel. The kids had so much fun swimming at the beach, digging in the sand, swimming at the hotel swimming pool, and swimming some more. On Saturday, some of us went for a ride on a 6-person water-weenie behind a jet-ski. It was a lot of fun. Right before we drove home on Sunday, we went to the turtle rescue center to visit the sea turtles.
We had so much fun, we didn't want to come home!

I don't blame you for not wanting to come home. I wouldn't have wanted to come home either! I absolutely love the picture of all of the kids at the beach! It looks like is should be on a post card! What beautiful girls you have! They look like such great friends. I am so happy that you had a great weekend!

I'm glad you were able to get away and have a nice little trip! I can't wait for this darn restaurant to open so that we can go on a much needed vacation! My husband made a quick trip to your area last Tuesday to purchase a van for catering and drove all the way back here that same day. But he really liked what he saw of your state and would like to go back and spend some time. So if we happen to really schedule something like that, it would be fun to meet up with you!
