The World Traveler...that wouldn't be me

Well, I'm insanely jealous of where Trevor is for "work" this week--Barcelona, Spain. I say "work" because it isn't really work at all. I guess one of the perks of being a geologist in the company that he works for is that he gets to go on a geology field trip once a year. This is not riding on an old rundown school bus kind of field trip, people. They stay in really nice hotels, and they run around in the hills and look at rocks all day. Not only does he get to go somewhere cool, but he gets to choose where he wants to go. Last year, I made him choose somewhere completely uncool so that wouldn't be jealous. But this year, I'm totally jealous. He left yesterday and is going to be gone for 8 days. I kept holding out hope that he was going to pull out a ticket for me, too. I kept dropping all sorts of hints that it would be the BEST surprise ever if he took me with him. He's a little slow on taking those hints, I guess. But he said IS taking me with him next year. He's choosing between Ireland and France...nice! He just found out that he's going to Brazil next month. So, my husband, is being the world traveller that I have always wanted to be. I guess I will just have to live vicariously through his adventures for a while.

NICE! His work trips are way cooler than Jeff's or I guess any one for that matter! You totally need to take him up on the next trip including you! So fun! Since he didn't catch on to you going this trip maybe you'll at least get super cool presents!

I am totally jealous! And, I had a very unpleasant experience yesterday at the Wal-Mart. I hate the place, too.

Make him sign in blood that he is taking you next time!! What a jet setter he is!! Guys don't take hints very well do they. Deron is leaving for Moab for a short work trip, and I was trying to make him take me...Hello, who wouldn't want to spend some quality time with their spouse. You have every reason to be jealous. Keep us posted on your adventures with the girls while he is away. I love to hear the Holly stories!

Barcelona is such a cool city, I'm sure he'll love it!

Barcelona is cool. I only spent about two days there at the tail-end of my study abroad stint, but it's a fascinating city.

Can I live vicariously through him too? And, yes... our anniversary did go well. However, I knew I was pregnant a week before that. You are a crack up!

Not much excitement going on here in the homefront. Just a throwing up Holly. What is it about husbands leaving town, and the kids getting sick? Seriously!

Wow! I am totally jealous too! I want to be a world traveler more than anything in the world right now. Ah, Trevor....so jealous of you! I'm glad that he is going to take you next year. That will be lots of fun!

How fun! You better be treating yourself to a few good meals out. I am always so jealous when Greg travels that I treat myself to extra treats and dinners while he is gone! Hope everything goes well and the kids get better!!

Hey Annie -Do you like the book you are reading? I'm looking for something good to read.

Kerri, the book is good so far. I haven't had a ton of extra time lately, so I'm slowly making my way through. But it's good. It's about Iranian and American famlies that both adopt Korean babies. Different chapters are written from different character's points of view. It's good. I also just finished Sarah by Orson Scott Card. That was really good, too.

Hey Annie

What made you decide to go private? Hope you are doing well. Hang in there while Trevor is gone.

Sarah, the comment on this post from "catalunya spain" was no one I knew (which isn't a big deal), but they found my post through a really random search engine. I put a lot of pics of my kids, and I'm not very careful about using names, etc. So I'm just taking caution. There's a lot of psychos out there. I can't watch the news because of it. Take care!

Yes- I admit that if Mr. Clark had taken us to Spain I would have gone on the Geology Field Trips. I don't think I would have complained once. .. What a lucky guy!

Lucky Guy! He had better take you on the next trip;) Hope everything went well with your girls.

So when does he get to stay home with the kids while you go travel the world? :) I'm glad he's got such a great job! I am very envious, as well! So are you rooting for Ireland or France?

Annie said...

At this point, it could be Tijuana for all I care! I just need a vacation!!! I've never been to Ireland, so that might be cool. But France is amazing, too. So, we'll see...

Annie, you make me laugh so hard. The whole vaca thing. I know what you mean. I wouldn't care if Deron just took me down the street to the hampton inn. It would be a welcome treat! Sorry about Holly. That always happens to me when Deron leaves. He is in Moab right now. Stop leaving!!! I don't like being by myself.

I am jealous! I love traveling and have not done it nearly enough. And now I have huge guilt trips every time I leave! Tell Trevor that I am his mom's VT companion! I am so excited to have somebody I know!

And you really should add those great books to my book blog!!!

It finally worked. How fun to be in Spain. Wish I could be there. Good luck to being alone for 8 days. I don't do so well when my hubby goes out of town. I hope all goes smoothly for you.
